A fantastic and challenging E-bike tour that guarantees not only scenic but also culinary delights. This is the perfect introduction to the KAT Bike adventure! The pilgrimage church in Mariastein is a truly impressive place to start your tour! The place gives you impressive views of the mountain ranges that surround the Inn Valley.

Windautal - Oberndorf in Tirol

You start with a relaxed ride down the valley towards Westendorf on a small, asphalted road. Here you can once again enjoy the very remote and natural flair of the Windau Valley. The rock faces next to the road rise up impressively. From Westendorf, follow the cycle path towards Brixen im Thale. This time you follow the Brixentaler Ache almost to its source. The forest road now winds quickly and somewhat more steeply uphill. And the Wiegalm appears. At the Wiegalm snack station, you can fortify yourself with regional specialties before your biggest challenge of the day. You ride a few meters s... weiterlesenteeply downhill on the forest road, then you reach the turn-off to your challenge. The Wiegalm Trail will put your riding skills to the test. As a red trail, it is classified as moderately difficult. You should therefore have some experience here and have biked a single trail before. The start is quite steep and a little washed out. At the bottom, you cross a stream bed. A fantastic section of flow trail begins here (alternative descent via the forest road).

Oberndorf in Tirol - Fieberbrunn

You start in the center of the small village of Oberndorf and cycle towards Rerobichl. A landscape lined with farms greets you and you cycle slowly towards the Wilder Kaiser. The view of the Wilder Kaiser and back to the Kitzbüheler Horn is simply stunning. You follow the Großache almost as far as Kirchdorf in Tirol, then follow the cycle path into the center of Waidring and turn right at the crossroads towards St. Ulrich am Pillersee. The cycle path along the lake is one of the most beautiful in the region. After the lake, the route climbs slightly and you follow the cycle path on perfect narrow gravel paths towards the Wiesensee.

Other Notes

To ensure a stress-free start to the trip, we recommend arriving at the starting point by early evening in most cases. Some tours start as early as midday, in which case we recommend arriving the day before and will be happy to book an extra night for you at the same time. The individual return journey takes place on the last day of the tour. The distances are approximate and may differ from the actual distances covered. This tour is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

The daily stages have a length of approx. 44 to 64 km, which is why this tour is classified as difficulty level 3 (moderately difficult). They are mostly on gravel, forest and asphalt roads. You have the option of riding single trails on the last two stage

Departure

From Fieberbrunn take the train to Hopfgarten or Wörgl and from there take a cab to your accommodation. Please be sure to tell the cab company how many people or bicycles you have with you. The costs for the regional train are included in the guest card, any cab costs are not included!

Parking

In Mariastein there is a public parking lot right next to the Mariastein church. In Angerberg you can park your car directly at your accommodation for the duration of your trip. In Hopfgarten you can park your car in the free public parking lot P3 Wasserfeld or alternatively in the parking garage of the Hohe Salve cable cars for a fee (approx. 10 EUR per day).
