The river Ammer-Amper Cycling Trail
bike trip - Fire and Ice Own Tour
The official long-distance cycle trail, just over 200 km long, starts at the Ammer springs in the Graswang valley and always follows the Ammer to lake Ammersee. Numerous sights and idyllic river landscapes await you on the last section past the towns of Fürstenfeldbruck, Dachau and Freising before the Amper flows into the Isar in Moosburg.

| Arrival Enjoy a strall in the small town known for the facade paintings of the houses. |
02. DAY

| Oberammergau-Ettal-Peiting The first stage takes you past the stage of the Passion Play and back to Ettal, where the Ammer springs in the Ettaler Weidmoos nature reserve form the official start of the Ammer-Amper cycle path. From there, follow the cycle path along the banks of the Ammer River to Peiting. |
03. DAY

| Peiting - Dießen at Ammersee Your first destination today is Peißenberg. On the trail of the mining tradition in the Pfaffenwinkel, the mining museum worth seeing awaits you in the heart of the market town. After another 15 kilometres you will reach Weilheim. Take a short break and enjoy a cup of coffee in the beautiful pedestrian zone. Your destination for the day is Dießen am Ammersee, overnight stay in Dießen, or Andechs. |
04. DAY

| Dießen at Ammersee - Fürstenfeldbruck You first cycle along the beautiful lake Ammersee, the third largest lake in Bavaria. Perhaps you will freshen up briefly before continuing on to Fürstenfeldbruck. The idyllic town on the Amper River entices you to browse extensively in the many small shops and restaurants. |
05. DAY

| Fürstefeldbruck - Haimhausen Today we first are heading first to Dachau. Widely known as the site of the concentration camp memorial, Dachau also offers a very beautiful old town with the Wittelsbach summer residence Dachau Castle. After about 15 kilometres you will reach the small community of Haimhausen, where your next hotel is located. |
06. DAY

| Haimhausen - Moosburg an der Isar Early in the morning you start the last stage of the Ammer-Amper Cycle Path. 53 kilometres separate you from your destination today, Moosburg an der Isar. At the intersection with the famous Isar Cycle Path, the old town of Moosburg rises up with the two landmarks of the town, the church towers of St. Kastulus and St. Johannes. Romantic alleys and historic buildings characterise the townscape. |

Other notes
To ensure a stress-free start to the trip, we recommend arriving at the starting point by early evening in most cases. Some tours start as early as midday, in which case we recommend arriving the day before and will be happy to book an extra night for you at the same time. The individual return journey takes place on the last day of the tour. The distances are approximate and may differ from the actual distances covered. This tour is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
Minimum number of participants
If a minimum number of participants is required for the tour to take place, this is stated under "Prices and services". If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the trip up to four weeks before the "arrival date". We recommend organizing the arrival and departure only after this deadline has passed.
7-day carefree number
No matter how well planned a trip is, in rare cases unexpected things happen. At such times, it is nice to have someone you can rely on locally. For this reason, you have a local contact person on our individual activity trips who will be happy to provide you with information and, as stated in the travel documents, can be contacted in an emergency.
