Isar Cycle Route Classic-Tour
bike trip - Fire and Ice Own Tour
Enjoy spectacular views of the beautiful river Isar while enjoying a nice cycle tour between the Bavarian Alps. The Isar Cycle Route starts in Mittenwald and takes you besides the Isar to some of the most charming Bavarian villages and cities next to the Isar. At the end of your tour, you have the chance to see the famous river Donau and the estuary area point of the Isar.

| Mittenwald – Fall Upon arrival, you will start your first stage in the Alps in Mittenwald. From here to Fall you have the option of riding along the mountain river or the sporty cyclists can also take the variant over the Rauchenberg. |
03. DAY

| Fall – Gelting Todays route gives you the opportunity to enjoy nature and the beautiful landscape extensively. Until Lenggries, the route then goes along the Isar River. Take the opportunity to visit the impressive old town of Bad Tölz. From Bad Tölz you will ride today through the small towns of Osterhof, Königsdorf, Geretsried and Gartenberg until you finally reach the Loisach-Isar canal and Gelting. |

| Gelting – Ismaning On your way today, you will pass Schäftlarn Monastery and drive through Grünwalder Forst directly to Grünwald. Now you will ride to Munich. (We will be happy to include an overnight stay in Munich). Continue through the English Garden, past the Chinese Tower, to your stage destination Ismaning. |
05. DAY

| Ismaning - Landshut Today the route goes from Ismaning to Freising through a kind of no mans land, where only every few kilometers a bridge brings you back to civilization. From Moosburg there are again two variants to ride to Landshut: the variant on the high bank on the hills above the Isar or stay on the main route along the Isar to Landshut. |
06. DAY

| Landshut - Plattling From Landshut you drive first to Niederaichbach and further to Dingolfing. From here you take the dirt road to Landau. From here you will reach Plattling either along the shore again or you take the variant through the interior. With todays stage destination you have reached your final destination. You now have the option of riding to the Donau and back the next day, or simply resting for another night and exploring the beautiful surroundings. |

Other notes
To ensure a stress-free start to the trip, we recommend arriving at the starting point by early evening in most cases. Some tours start as early as midday, in which case we recommend arriving the day before and will be happy to book an extra night for you at the same time. The individual return journey takes place on the last day of the tour. The distances are approximate and may differ from the actual distances covered. This tour is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
Tour charachter
The daily stages have a length of about 35 to about 70 km, depending on the booked program. A mixture of asphalt bike paths, quiet side roads and unpaved forest, field and shore paths. The path is flat to slightly hilly. From Munich it runs along the Isar floodplains to the low mountain range Bavarian Forest in Deggendorf.
Return transfer
Good train connections to Mittenwald hourly from Plattling (duration approx. 4.5 h). Alternatively, we are happy to offer you an organized return transfer. Bookable as an additional service.
Parking
At the police station there are free, unguarded parking spaces (parking lot P4), available for the duration of your bike trip, ask at the reception. Alternatively: to the right of the train station building is the parking lot P1. On this Park Ride parking lot you can also park longer, free unguarded, if you park in the back rows.
Minimum number of participants
If a minimum number of participants is required for the tour to take place, this is stated under "Prices and services". If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the trip up to four weeks before the "arrival date". We recommend organizing the arrival and departure only after this deadline has passed.
7-day carefree number
No matter how well planned a trip is, in rare cases unexpected things happen. At such times, it is nice to have someone you can rely on locally. For this reason, you have a local contact person on our individual activity trips who will be happy to provide you with information and, as stated in the travel documents, can be contacted in an emergency.
