The KAT Walk Alpin offers long-distance hiking fans a mountain experience in a class of its own. Discover the sunny side of the Kitzbühel Alps on 6 daily stages, 113 km and over 6,350 meters in altitude! The first stages of the tour lead from Hopfgarten to the most beautiful places in the Brixental side valleys in pure, unspoilt nature. On the later stages, you will experience the famous Hahnenkamm with the Ski World Cup town of Kitzbühel and reach your destination via the lively St. Johann in Tirol: the beautiful St. Ulrich in the Pillerseetal valley. Hiking here means switching off, leaving everyday life behind, exploring traditional villages and enjoying fantastic mountain scenery with fresh Alpine air. Of course, tasty Tyrolean delicacies in rustic mountain huts and warm hosts along the way are a must, as it is precisely this hospitality that makes this little corner of the w... contineorld so special.

| Hopfgarten - Kelchsau The diverse route leads first slightly uphill through forests and meadows, and then past the stunning farms of Penningberg. After a short flat stretch towards Innerpenningberg, the second ascent starts to the rustic Haag Alm Alpine inn. Without any significant elevation difference, you then reach the Höhenbrandalm Alpine inn, where the descent starts via the forest path into the finish of the stage in Kelchsau. In Kelchsau you will also find beautiful wooden houses and farms. |

| Kelchsau-Windau Alpine pasture hike with loads of great views. The route leads over easy to medium-difficulty steep paths and forest paths. Slopes are moderate but steeper in short sections. With a 1,200 metre difference in elevation, you need a bit of stamina though. Along the route you pass countless Alpine pastures. With a little luck you can catch Alpine writer Sepp Kahn on the Lower Lärchenbergalm Alpine pasture . He records the life of an Alpine dairyman in diaries. |

| Windau-Aschau A diverse hike in absolute tranquillity, heading past several historical Alpine buildings and a mountain moor near the Hintenkarscharte, as well as a waterfall near the stage finish. You cant fail to spot the Alpine roses above the Scheibenschlag Alpine pasture. With dream views of the surrounding mountains, the giant icy peaks of the Hohe Tauern and the striking peaks of the Großer Rettenstein right in front of you. The routes are mostly not too difficult, only the area on either side of the Hintenkarscharte is classified as medium difficult. | Aschau-Kitzbühel The fourth stage of the KAT Walk takes you in the tracks of the legendary Hahnenkamm ski race. You can sense the ski World Cup atmosphere: along the Streif ski run display boards point out well-known sections of the track like the Hausbergkante or Mausefalle (descents also can be made by cable car). The day finishes in the centre of the most legendary sporting town in the Alps: Kitzbühel! |

| Kitzbühel-St.Johann in Tirol A demanding stage that leads via the famous Kitzbüheler Horn to St. Johann in Tirol. You can take several cable cars some of the way though. Views in all directions, a well-kept Alpine flower garden and several places to stop off and eat make this stage a special experience! Spectacular route on descent of the Kitzbüheler Horn to Harschbichl. |

| St.Johann in Tirol - St.Ulrich at Pillersee Diverse hike on a quiet plateau with different karst formations and dry Alpine pastures. Areas covered by mountain pines, various mixed forests and continual views in all directions round off this mountain experience. The route leads over climbs, meadow paths and roads. It is classed as medium difficulty. |

Other notes
To ensure a stress-free start to the trip, we recommend arriving at the starting point by early evening in most cases. Some tours start as early as midday, in which case we recommend arriving the day before and will be happy to book an extra night for you at the same time. The individual return journey takes place on the last day of the tour. The distances are approximate and may differ from the actual distances covered. This tour is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

Asphalt road, forest paths, mountain trail (moderately difficult - marked red), hiking trails or alpine hiking trails
Overnight stay in a hut
If you are staying at the Labalm on day 4 (please note: this is well before the village of Aschau), please note that in this case you will be staying in a mountain hut with shared bathroom facilities (with shower/bath and separate WC). You will spend the night in the room category you have booked (i.e. single or double room). A hut sleeping bag is not necessary, you will be provided with bed linen and towels.

Our transfer partner only uses electric vehicles to transport your luggage.
Minimum number of participants
If a minimum number of participants is required for the tour to take place, this is stated under "Prices and services". If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the trip up to four weeks before the "arrival date". We recommend organizing the arrival and departure only after this deadline has passed.
7-day carefree number
No matter how well planned a trip is, in rare cases unexpected things happen. At such times, it is nice to have someone you can rely on locally. For this reason, you have a local contact person on our individual activity trips who will be happy to provide you with information and, as stated in the travel documents, can be contacted in an emergency.
